About my relationship with a skin care routine.
I am Aoi, a 22-year-old Japanese woman, and a lover of makeup. I love trying new makeup products and looks. However, when it comes to skincare, I get a bit lazy. I like an effortless skin care routine. After a few years of sticking to the same old simple skin care routine, lately, I feel the necessity of changing it up to catch up a trend. One day at work, I came to realize my co-interns who both are in their early 20s have such beautiful and spotless skin. Then, the realization has made me interview them what their favorite skin care products are, and would like to share the result as well as my go-to product.

Minami's pick
1. Perfect Whip Face Wash
Minami says “I like its abundant dense leather, it feels good on the skin while washing. My face tends to get immediately dry right after washing with other facial soaps except for this one. Even when I leave my face without moisturizing for a while, it never feels tight or dry.”
I found it interesting because 3 of the 3 ZenPop interns have heard people rave about it. Minami has been using it for more than 5 years nonstop. That is a long time to me as I am a gypsy of good skincare products. I can’t believe that her freaking spotless skin has nurtured by such an affordable product like this. I have to go to a drugstore and get this.
2. Nivea cream
Minami says ”Put this cream a little overly before bed, and in the next morning, I have well-moisturized skin instantly. I like the cream is thick because it ensures moisturizing my face well. And this is unbelievably affordable, which I appreciate."

3. Cure Natural Aqua Peeling Gel
Nami, who has smooth and healthy skin says:
“It leaves the skin refreshed, and seeing the dirt that comes off in the process is oddly satisfying. This product is gentle yet powerful enough to get rid of dead skin. My face never feels dry after the use of this product, which I can’t get enough."
Also, Nami revealed her interest in Doro-awawa(Clay babbles) face wash, which has been raved about on the internet.
"I have always wanted to test this out by myself but never had a chance yet. I have heard since this fash wash is formulated with 2 kinds of sea muds, it can deeply cleanse the skin with its dense leather."

4. SantaMarche Green Tea Deep Cleansing
I’ve used up 3 bottles of this so far and have a few brand new backups in my shelf. I love this because it's oil free and made from natural ingredients. My face doesn’t feel dry after I rinse since it's so gentle. However, I can see all dirt coming off on a towel after wiped with, which makes me oddly satisfied. I think this cleanser does a good job to make it easier for the following next steps such as toner, moisturizer, and stuff to soak into the skin.

From the interviews to the 2 of nice co-interns and considering my favorite product; hence, the fact that Japanese consider a simple and natural face-cleansing as important has revealed. Cleaning products can deem as a heart of Japanese skin care approach, and it has been reflecting and will reflect on our beauty boxes!
