She’s been the star of the show all these years: our mascot, Luna! Coming from the moon, she’s here to deliver the best snacks available in Japan to your home, and this month, she has her first custom chestnut-flavored (kuri, 栗) snack!
Wagokoroll Castella Tanbaguri from S Trust
Allergens: wheat, egg, dairy, soy Did you see her, our Luna got her first own packaging! We’re proud to introduce our first snack collaboration and deliver those DE-LI-CIOUS Japanese chestnut wagokoroll castella (和ごころーるカステラ)! After, carefully, removing Luna from the box before she eats everything up, you’ll find a whole castella roll with a Japanese feel. The chestnut (kuri, 栗) flavors are elegantly sweet and not overpowering, making them perfect to snack on at home, as well as for serving with tea to your guests, or even as a small gift! Chestnut is a traditional treat in Japan, best enjoyed during the fall, and we thought it would be perfect for you to discover this delight!
Kumasan Monaka Kurian from Kurian Fumido
Processed in a facility that also processes egg, wheat, buckwheat, dairy, and peanuts Look at this adorable Kuma-san Monaka! Kuma (くま) means bear in Japanese, and Monaka (もなか or 最中) is a Japanese sweet made of azuki bean paste sandwiched between two thin crisp wafers made from mochi. For this unique treat, the skin is specially grilled in the Kaga region, which is famous for its monaka skin. You can enjoy chestnut an shiruko as the makers, Kurian Fumido luxuriously filled with their specialty chestnut bean paste. Chestnut is a Fall delicacy in Japan, and we can’t get enough of them once they become available! Plus, come on, isn’t that bear so cute?
Sweet Potesupi Osatsu Butter Aji from Tohato
Allergens: dairy, wheat, soy, gelatin Processed in a facility that also processes egg, peanuts, shrimp, and crab Oh, My, Oh, My, it’s hard to keep our calm when we get our hands on those limited-edition Sweet Potato Osatsu Butter crackers. Take a deep breath, in, and out, open the pack, and let the scent take care of the rest. The pack won’t last 5 minutes, I guarantee it. Tohato (about which you can find more information on our blog), just introduced this new non-fried Osatsu chips with an extra crispy texture. The sweet taste of sweet potato comes out strong, and rich fermented butter is kneaded straight into the dough. You can’t ask for more. You really can’t.
Pikora Annouimo from YBC
Allergens: wheat, egg, dairy, soy A new type of Pikora in celebration of Autumn with a rich flavor of purple cookies and Anno potato (安納芋) cream, only available in Fall. The cookie base is colored purple with a delicate yellow line baked into it. Crispy cookies are combined with rich Anno potato cream from Tanegashima, a region famous for the quality of their sweet potatoes, and they created this wonderful autumn flavor. Now, if you’ve never tried those, they have a little something special about them, and it’s not in the snack, but the packaging! YBC included some special openings, which you can use to transform your box into a smartphone holder to snack while watching your favorite TV show!
Mogimogi Fruits Gumi from Meiji
Allergens: gelatin Those gummies are extremely Mogimogi (もぎもぎ) as they like to say in Japan for chewy! Meiji is known for their fruit gummies, and we couldn’t resist adding those tasty grape-flavored one to your box. Grapes are in season now, and it’s very common in Japan for people to go help harvest the tasty fruits (budou, ぶどう, 葡萄) and take a sizeable amount home!
Sonomanma Grape Gum from Coris
The more grapes we get, the better we feel! Those cutely package chewing gum are part of a very popular series in Japan, “Sonomanma” (そのまんま) and have been popular with children for many years. The gum is soft, and leaves a refreshing sensation when chewed! It’s one of Coris’ best products, and this seasonal flavor is a great addition to your box!

More gum, more fun. That’s a motto to live by! Chirin Seika made this delicious confectionery to take with you wherever you go. Conveniently packaged, those orange-flavored gums fit in your pocket, and will give you a refreshing taste every time you need some!

Allergens: dairy, orange Ready for some miracle powder? That’s how Pine advertises it’s sorbet-cola-flavored treat. Take the stick carefully out of the packaging, lick it, dip it into the sprinkle inside, and then be ready for some craaaaazy sensations!

Coming into Fall, temperatures are finally dropping, and some comforting corn potage is sometimes all you need to put a bright small on your face.

Allergens: gelatin More more more moooooore grape! The Kansai region (関西), where we’re at, has all those juicy grapes in full production around this time of the year and this time only! Naturally, we’re taking full advantage of this and delivering all the grapiest grapey grape treats we can find for you! This soda gumi combines the fruity flavors with some fizz and fun!
Umai bo Ebi Mayonnaise from Yaokin
Allergens: wheat, egg, dairy, shrimp, soy, chicken We had to at least include one Umaibo (うまい棒) in this box. It’s a simple snack, yet one of the most iconic in Japan ever since it’s been invented in 1979 by Yaokin. There are always new flavors to try, and this month we delivered the Shrimp-Mayo combo for your taste buds’ greatest satisfaction!
