The thick soup, perfect for those noodles, is prepared with a seafood pork bone soy sauce flavor that combines the umami of chicken and pork with the umami of mackerel, dried sardines, and bonito. That’s a lot of umami: prepare your senses! The noodles have smooth texture and are prepared with Toyo Suisan’s (東洋水産) own method, which to this day, is patented by the company! This cloudy soup covers a pleasant seafood flavored surprise! Cup Noodle (カップヌード), the iconic series from Nissin (日清), has released so many different variations, but this one is a classic. The rich soup has a rich combination of pork and seafood broth, paired with smooth noodles. The umami of the seafood is enhanced from the pork flavors, and it’s what really makes this classic still popular and satisfying today. To make the cup even more tasty, it comes with plenty of toppings: squid, squid, crab-flavored kamaboko, scrambled eggs, cabbage, and green onions. This city on the shores of the Sea of Japan is famous for its art scene, but also its sweet shrimp (甘えび). Koikeya (湖池屋) is always trying to source the best local products for their chips, such as 100% Japanese potatoes, and when the opportunity to work with local fishermen from Ishikawa prefecture and create a new flavor presented itself, they didn’t think twice.
